Kirkon vieressä on suomen kirjakielen perustajan Mikael Agricolan patsas. Mikael Agricolan koti on sijainnut kirkosta luoteeseen 1½ km päässä ns. Torsbyn kylässä. Paikalla on nyt osa kotitalon kivijalkaa ja muistokivi.
Beside the church there is a monument of Mikael Agricola, the father of the Finnish language. Mikael Agricolas home was once situated 1,5km from the church in the "Torsby" village. Left of his home today is the stone foundation of the house, as well as a memorial stone.

Only a stone's throw away from the church is the summer café and the Bric & Brac antique shop. A yellow sign on the wooden house invites you to step into the inner courtyard, where you can enjoy the pieceful atmosphere and friendly service.
